We have returned from a lovely vacation in which we visited our dear friends. Unfortunately we returned to a bit of a mess as our water heater died while we were away. I'm very thankful for good neighbors and fast repair men. The water heater has already been replaced at no cost to us due to the extended warranty. Now I try to clean the house and get back into the writing/prepping groove.

I'm glad you had such a lovely vacation. Too bad the water heater broke -- did your neighbors find out through water leakage in their basement? What did they do? I hope nothing was damaged!
Hi Lilian, luckily there was no major damage, although Archer wants to rip up the linoleum in the downstairs as he is concerned water seeped beneath the linoleum. He wants to prevent any mold he can.
Our neighbor was watching our cats, and when she came in Wednesday morning to feed them, she heard running water and then stepped into about an 1/8 of an inch of water when when she entered the downstairs. Our basement isn't technically a basement, just the ground floor of the townhouse, so no one else sustained any damage. All in all, it was fairly minor. We have to replace a filing cabinet and some luggage.
