To find out, or To not find out, continued

It seems we will be making this decision much sooner than expected. I had a routine appointment with my mid-wife this morning, and she scheduled my next ultrasound appointment. It seems the radiology clinic she is sending me too had a cancellation this afternoon, so I have my 18 week ultrasound later today. We still have yet to make a decision as to whether or not we will find out, but we do have to make that decision today!

If you can't decide you could always get them to write it down and seal it in an envelope so you can figure it out later.

Actually, we probably won't get to find out today anyway. It is against the law in Canada for ultrasound techs to tell parents the baby's sex. We have to tell the tech if we want to know, and then the tech'll tell our midwife when the results of the u/s are in. We can then call our midwife, who will tell us the baby's sex. If we decide to find out, we probably won't know for another week or so.

That's a very complicated process. But the "big u/s" is cool whether you find out the sex of the baby or not: you get to see the little profile, little feet, little hands...
